you can do the same thing lying @ the edge of your bed with your feet tucked under the end..then stretching…you can also do the same thing by getting a regular ex program for your back..simple, single knee to chest, posterior pelvic tilts, lateral trunk rotation, hamstring stretches, minicurlups..basic ex’s for the back, but if ANY pain while performing..these ex’s should NOT be performed, but you would see a doc for a diagnosis…conversion tables cost way too much for what they do, & you can actually do things to your back to help it without spending all that money…better off asking the pro’s instead of finding supplies that are worthless, with that money you DO have…good luck!!…

Q&A: What’s helped you chronic pain sufferers in back pain?

Question by Daniel: What’s helped you chronic pain sufferers in back pain?
i’m on heavy narcotics and i think it might be time to up them again since i have some “breakthrough” which is now “constant”. Im on 50mcg of duragesic, 7.5 hydrocodone x3, 10mg cyclobenzaprine x2, and a compounded cream of ketamine/cyclobenzaprine/ketoprofen which is a lifesaver a few times a day (but i only get a little).

I’ve had addiction problems before and i’m hesitant to up the dose, but the pain is now so bad it’s impacting every aspect of my life. The pain stems from stenosis + scar tissue + degenerative disk disease. Im in the process of losing weight but there is only so much exercise i can do. Im desperately looking for measures that can help me that dont involve surgery of any kind – i’ve already been cut on twice and i dont want mroe time off work, more scars, more recovery time or more crushed hope.

I’m considering accupuncture, meditation, that ketamine treatment that is suppoesd to help reset the pain center of the brain someone told me about, epidural steroids, facet joint injections, nerve blocks – anything at all i can do. If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE let me know – this is ruining my life.

FYI, I did not ask for someone to tell me to go to rehab. Thank you for your concern but sometimes addicts need drugs for legitimate reasons. I can barely get through the day because of what feels like a knife shoved in my back and being ripped down to the middle of my shinbone. I asked for mature answers, not the equivilent of “stop popping pills you druggie”. I specifically asked for thought out mature answers and if you can’t provide that, respectfully, do not answer the question.

Also, i’m not religious – mostly spiritual – so please, i want real concrete answers here. Faith based medicine isn’t covered by my insurance plan or my mind.

Can Sciatica cause knee pain?

Question by WHIPPETS7: Can Sciatica cause knee pain?
I have very bad Sciatica and recently started having very bad pain on the underneath part of my knee. I recently retired and after 40 years of working I am unable to enjoy my retirement with the pain. Can Sciatica cause this knee pain?

I don’t think so. Are you walking different because of the sciatica pain? That could cause a strain or tendonitis in your knee.

Morton’s Neuroma (or, Metatarsalgia)

Typical microscopical look of "Morton’s neuroma", a painful condition of the feet. Despite the name neuroma, this is not a neoplastic lesion. It is a fibrosing process which is characterised by entrapment of sensory nerves by concentric fibrous bands as seen above.

How do I go about receiving compensation for motor vehicle accident injuries?

Question by luvsacting: How do I go about receiving compensation for motor vehicle accident injuries?
I was riding the free city bus to school at Arizona State University on Wednesday and the bus was rear ended by a pick up truck. Everyone on our bus flew forward and backward. About four hours after the accident I started showing signs of head trauma. I was seen by my primary care doctor and was sent by her to the emergency room where they did a CT scan and found out there was bruising on my brain and I had received a concussion from the accident. I want to know how I would go about receiving compensation from either the city or the guy who hit the bus’s insurance.

There should be a police report telling you who the pick-up driver’s insurance was, as for the school and the bus company, you can send a notice of claim directly to them and they should forward it on to their insurance carriers. Be aware though, you may get no compensation from the school or the bus company as they were clearly not at fault. It’s worth a try anyway…..
