Q&A: high thyroid antibodies/SEVERE joint pain/ LUPUS?

Question by Sarah: high thyroid antibodies/SEVERE joint pain/ LUPUS?
Iv been seeing doctors for awhile now and recently did my thyroid antibodies and it came out to 852— (not a typo)—– Also my TSH was 8 (so we know im HYPO)
Also I’m changing rheumatologist, who I see to determine if I have lupus because more than a few have it my family. Because of my many different symptoms and joint pain ..

So My question is Does anybody have Hashitmoto’s disease and does it cause you SEVERE joint pain…… Im thinking this is what I have if i dont have LUPUS.

also my ESR was at 25— (sed rate)
Triglycerides was 2192 (not a typo)
Low B12
Elevated white blood count (has gone alot in the last few years)
Bad stomach pains ect.
Severe headaches, Tired all the time, mild hair lose, obviously Im fat too lol. and Discoid Eczema, I also was diagnose with glaucoma when I was 22 years old. I am almost 25 now. Seriously bad OCD and different things trigger my anxiety.

A second opinion would be best. YA is probably not the best place to ask this, WebMD has something similar devoted entirely to medical questions and is usually monitored by physicians. Alternatives include MDtalks.com & justaskmedical.com

Extra Strength Tiger Balm -the original kind- and Glucosomine Sulphate -this is merely a food substitute and not medicine- do wonders for my chronic back and knee pain.

check with your doctor. special inserts may help. also, when standing, keep your feet a shoulder width apart and your back straight. exercise will help the circulation to your feet (or it should). join a gym, or if you dont have the time, take the stairs instead of the elevator, or get a headset for phonecalls and walk around your cubicle as you talk to clients.
basically, it sounds like a circulatory problem, so see your doctor. good luck!! :)

What might be causing the foot pain on the balls of my feet and my toes?

Question by Waldo Waldo Waldo!: What might be causing the foot pain on the balls of my feet and my toes?
I get this foot pain that comes and goes. I had it for approx. 2 months, and it effects me everyday. It’s only with my left foot, and it effects only the two toes to the left of my big toe, and part of the ball of my foot. Sometimes I almost can’t walk on it, but I can relieve the pain if I curl my toes while walking. I had a concussion a long time ago that has caused a tingling sensation in my feet. I wonder if it worsened. Anyway I’m going to see a doctor about it, but I’m wondering if anybody has an idea of what could be causing it. I’ve had no injury to that foot for years. Nothing is broken. I had a doctor exam in August and I was completely healthy, except my sugar level was kind of high (90 something).

Sounds like bone spurs, and stretching exercises do help with that……

Help…Teenage son hurt on ATV on someone Else’s property?

Question by Karen K: Help…Teenage son hurt on ATV on someone Else’s property?
Okay here goes….My teenage son was at his girlfriend’s grandparents house with some of his and her friends as well as her mother. They were all swimming, playing ball and riding 4 wheelers. The driveway to this home is very long, paved and curvy and that’s where everyone was riding. (downhill) They were going fairly fast from my understanding and lost control of the 4 wheeler and went off the side of the driveway down a pretty steep hill. The 4 wheeler got hung between 2 trees and my son’s girlfriend hit the tree and thrown back approx. 10 feet. She was killed instantly and my son was thrown 40-45 feet down the hill and landed so hard it caused trauma to his brain. He was in a coma for 11 days and when he woke up he had no memory of what had happen and could not move the whole right side of his body. He couldn’t even see out of his right eye. (brain damage was done to the left side). After he came out of the coma he was transferred to a rehabilitation center in Atlanta and stayed there for 3 1/2 weeks. He had to take medication to keep him calm but slowly got a little better. When he came home we had to take him to therapy everyday for 2 more months. He is about 80% better now but it has been 4 years and he has to see a psychiatrist and is on medication (anxiety medication) He is still very in-mature it’s almost like he stopped maturing since he had his accident. I had insurance on him during this accident as well as my ex-husband. But all expenses have not been paid. I have used up all my savings (14,000.00) as well as charged up credit cards paying for copay’s and for remainder balances. Somehow during the whole thing my son was placed on medicaid so that usually pays for his medications. Everyone keeps telling me to pursue the homeowners insurance company for the benefit of my son but I feel so bad giving them another obstacle seeing that they lost their granddaughter due to the accident. What should I do?? They haven’t even tried to contact us or offer insurance as help….Help…Please!!
One other thing….we are still encountering lots of expenses due to this. Some of the bills have been turned over to collections. I can’t pay anymore or not much because i’m tapped out. This whole thing happened 9-11-04!! Yes I get reminders every year on 9-11 since its so recognized. (understandably) No one sure of who was driving but emergency responders say statistically it had to be her. My son doesn’t hold anyone responsible besides himself. He gets emails even now from a few people blaming him etc… She was only 13 he turned 15 while in a coma. He was a baseball player and expected by his coach’s to go professional. He was set up to tryout for Atlanta Braves the next spring!! Had scouts watching him! He was a right handed and thats were he lost his strength. He can move now but strength is lots less than it was. I’m not blaming anyone just don’t know what else to do.

Unless there was something on the property that caused the accident, the driver is solely responsible for their own actions.

Nobody made him go on that ATV.
